Principal's Corner

Dear Parents,
Assalamu alaikum,

Please accept my heartfelt thanks for your cooperation, support and patience as you coped with the changes, policies and procedures this first quarter. Without your support, the school could not have got off to a great start. No words can express my personal gratitude to the Al-Hadi community for their understanding and graciousness.

Please know that I am acutely aware that we still need to put a lot of things in place to take Al-Hadi to the next level. However, I do wish to assure you, that all staff and faculty at Al-Hadi is working rigorously to ensure that your child receives the best possible learning environment. An Islamic environment that promotes academic success, ensures safety/health…physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. We continue to work on offering new programs and electives, strengthening our Islamic Studies/Quran curriculum and extracurricular activities. My sincere belief is that a strong school/home partnership is beyond a doubt the best road to success.

The school is already into the second academic quarter. The curriculum will become more challenging and the pace will become faster. All second quarter cumulative exams will take place prior to the winter break. It is important that you spend a few hours with your child going over his learning and plan on how to improve his/her study habits that will impact positively on his/her academic achievement.

Al-Hadi, as you all know, is a fully accredited school. It received accreditation through the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Every five to seven years, a team from SACS comes for a revisit. 2016-17 is the year that the team will revisit Al-Hadi. The team ensures and affirms that Al-Hadi is meeting the quality standards set by the agency to maintain the accreditation status. It reaffirms what we stand for. Al-Hadi staff and faculty has already embarked on a ‘self- study’ process, which is required before the visit. The process also includes surveys to be completed by the parents, students and teachers. I will soon be getting in touch with you regarding those. Further, I will keep you updated and posted on the progress being made toward the self- study.

On another note, students need to use computers/laptops/iPad/notebooks for research and study purposes. The importance cannot be underestimated. However, unrestricted and unmonitored usage may lead to serious repercussions; accessing inappropriate websites, or unnecessary chatting on google etc., and cyber bullying can be dangerous. Parents are strongly advised to not only monitor their children’s time on the internet, but to also speak to the child about its pros and cons. This is for your child’s safety.

The temperature is cooling down, please make sure the little ones are dressed for the weather.
