Principal's Corner
Dear Parents,
Salaam Alaikum,

Welcome back to the second semester! I hope you all had a peaceful and restful break. Please keep in mind that the second semester is going to be a really rigorous one. We have planned several activities for our children, both academic and extracurricular. More importantly, the 2nd semester is time to make up for any deficiencies that occurred during the first semester. Your child still has several weeks to improve upon their scores. It is extremely important that they focus on their education, specifically in the core content areas because children failing in English, Math and Sciences will not be promoted to the next grade level. The child would need to either come for summer school and pass, or sit for a makeup exam and pass in the core areas.

Furthermore, homework is a very important part of the child’s total grade. It is important that you provide your child with the time and space required to complete their homework. Studies have shown that children perform better in school when they have parents that are involved in helping them academically.

Al-Hadi is a member of the Texas Private School Association. This is an organization that is currently working very hard to get ‘Choice’ for parents approved by the state department. Parental school choice represents a simple but powerful idea: parents should be empowered to decide which school best meets their child’s needs, regardless of their address or income. There will be a rally held on January 24th in Austin, in support of this program. Al-Hadi staff and high school students will be attending this rally in a coach bus provided by the Texas Private School Association. More information will be sent at a later date. We will be requesting for some parent volunteers to chaperone our students.

I am, also very pleased to share with you that we have remodeled the Al-Hadi library over the winter break. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who supported the project. We are hoping to begin a book donation drive soon! Please be prepared to donate ONE book per child to the school library. A list of books will be sent home. Our students will benefit greatly.

I look forward to a successful second semester and a great rest of the year.

Recent Events!
We've had some exciting events take place at Al-Hadi in the last month!

-Our elementary parents loved being invited to 'Pasties with Parents' in their child's classroom! Parents were able to meet each other and develop a closer bond with their child's teacher and fellow parents.

-Spirit week, organized by Student Council, was a great success! It was exciting to see the students express their creativity through the way they dressed up for the various themes during each day of Spirit Week. Student Council planned fun activities for all students including an ice cream eating competition, balloon dart game and tug of war competition! It was a great stress reliever for our students before they began their final exams!

-A spirit of festivity took over Al-Hadi as students, teachers and admin worked to decorate the classroom doors to celebrate Eid Milad un Nabi, the birthday of Prophet Mohammed (PBUH). All teachers, students and staff put in great effort to decorate their doors so beautifully.
