Principal's Corner

Salaam Alaikum Dear Parents,

Al-Hadi School hosted the SACS team on Monday and Tuesday, the 27th and 28th of February, respectively. I am happy to announce that Al-Hadi has received re-accreditation from the AdvancED team! The visiting team members were very impressed and pleased with the hospitality they received, and the overall environment of Al-Hadi. The team met with various stakeholders, including students, throughout the process and were very happy with the great feedback they received. The formal report prepared by the AdvancED team will be submitted to the school in 10 days.

I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone that made accreditation possible and this visit such a success.

With Spring Break approaching, I encourage all parents to take time out for their children to rest and take care of any health issues and doctors’ visits. Also, students going onto high school next year can utilize this time to begin researching and thinking about which courses they would like to take next year. Furthermore, here are some links for summer programs available to high school students. Do make most of the opportunity.

Eltemas Dua,

Thank You,
Amir F. Golabbakhsh,
Congratulations to...
... Al-Hadi's Ares-IX team for representing their school and our region at the National Future City Competition in Washington, D.C.

On February 19 and 20, at the national Future City Competition, there was a spectacular show of 42 teams, that included teams from Canada, China and Egypt, besides all the US regional teams. The final competitive round was video streamed on Facebook.

The Texas regional team, represented by Al-Hadi students, did very well, and gave a sound and very professional presentation. The 7th graders however were competing with older 8th graders and home schooled students. Their engineering planning and design was well appreciated by the judges.

Even though the Al-Hadi team did not make it to the top 5, they received a very prestigious reward: The "Best Future City Project Plan". The criteria for the award reads as follows-

"Teams should be able to explain how they followed the project cycle when designing their future city. They should be able to clearly communicate their activities in each stage of the project cycle including how they created their project schedule, assigned responsibilities, and monitored and controlled their work. Finally, teams should be able to explain what they learned during their project by answering the kinds of questions that they ask themselves during their team reflection. Samples of work that highlight team's project management activities are encouraged".

We are proud of Al-Hadi Ares-IX team for representing their school and our region and for their fine performance.

Congratulations. Lions Roar!
