Assalaamu Alaikum Al-Hadi Parents,

It seems as if it takes almost no time for the first quarter to move into high gear. Barely few weeks have passed, and yet we are already well into the 2017-2018 school year. This newsletter is the first of what I hope will be an informal monthly communication that will give me the opportunity to let you know what is happening here at Al-Hadi.

The educational philosophy at Al-Hadi provides for well planned activities, in an Islamic environment, designed to promote maximum student achievement. All students are provided opportunities to develop spiritually, intellectually and physically and to mature socially and emotionally. We strive to help all of our students develop responsibility to become good Muslim citizens in the world of today and tomorrow.

Maximum development and growth occurs with the strong partnership, understanding and cooperation of parents, staff members and the students.

I would like to invite you to become partners with Al-Hadi in your child’s academic journey. We have many new ideas planned for parents who would like to join us in helping our children in the learning process. You will see what a difference parental involvement in school activities makes on children’s education.

I will be keeping you informed of all the upcoming events during the school year. Please feel free to contact me at any time at 713-7687-5000.

Make that special commitment! It could be the one of the most exciting adventures of your life.

Educationally,

Dear Parents and Students of Al-Hadi School,

Assalam Alaykum!

This past week had been extraordinarily eventful due to the flooding in Houston. It impacted almost all of us in different ways and degrees. It gave rise to heroes as well as helpers who spearheaded the task of managing a crisis as humongous as this. Each one of us responded to the disaster in any way we could, not only through our duas, resources, expertise, and money but also through patience and perseverance.

وَأَيّوبَ إِذ نادىٰ رَبَّهُ أَنّي مَسَّنِيَ الضُّرُّ وَأَنتَ أَرحَمُ الرّاحِمينَ

And Job, when he called out to his Lord, ‘Indeed distress has befallen me, and You are the most merciful of the merciful.’

So We answered his prayer and removed his distress, and We gave him [back] his family along with others like them, as a mercy from Us, and an admonition for the devout. (21: 83-84)

I understand that many of you may still be struggling to return to normal life. Rest assured that the school will try its best to accommodate your needs accordingly. However, I request you to give additional time to doing school work at home, completing assignments, and emailing or contacting the teachers through Quickschools so that the loss of instructional time can be minimized. I wish you all the best.

May Allah hasten the reappearance of the Awaited One!
